The World Cup Groups and World Cup fixtures have been decided and as usual there are the easier groups and of course the dreaded World Cup Group Of Death. In 2010 the Group Of Death is definitely World Cup Group G which features Brazil, Ivory Coast, Portugal and North Korea. It looks a toss up between Ivory Coast and Portugal for second place but unfortunately for whichever one of them qualifies, they will play the Winners of World Cup Group H, most likely to be World Cup Betting favourites Spain.
England have been dealt a favourable draw, they are in World Cup Group C alongside USA, Algeria and Slovenia. England are expected to win that group and that means a Second Round Tie against the runners up in World Cup Group D, which could be any one of Germany, Australia, Ghana or Serbia, a very open group.
World Cup hosts South Africa were automatically drawn into World Cup Group A, alongside World Cup 2006 runners up France, as well as Uruguay and Mexico. That is another wide open group so the qualifiers of World Cup Group B won't be sure who they are likely to face. Argentina look to hold the edge in the group despite struggling to qualification, they have very winnable games against Nigeria, Greece and South Korea, surely one of the weakest groups.
World Cup holders Italy will be playing in World Cup Group F and in that group they face Paraguay, Slovakia and possible World Cup whipping boys New Zealand. Italy face a tough battle for top spot in the group against Paraguay and if they fail to finish top they will play likely World Cup Group E winners Holland, who are likely to finish above Cameroon, Denmark and Japan.
