Brazil face by far their easiest game in Group G and many people will just be asking how many Brazil are going to score. It is pretty much the most fancied team at the World Cup versus the least fancied team and North Korea are likely to be extremely negative to try to keep the score down.
A few Brazilians will be eyeing up this game as an opportunity to score a few goals so if you fancy Luis Fabiano, Nilmar or any other Brazilian to be Golden Boot it is best to back them before the game.
Betting on the result of each match is usually the most popular market, in a game like this it is often a case of deciding whether or not the odds are value, rather than whether or not the team will win.
Brazil could not have hoped for an easier first game to begin the 2010 World Cup and it is not a question of whether or not they will, it is how many they will score. Our prediction is a lot!
North Korea are arguably the worst team in the World Cup this year, it is certainly between them and New Zealand, so facing possibly the best team in the World Cup probably isn't what they had in mind for the firs game before the World Cup draw. They didn't concede many goals in qualifying (albeit against much weaker opposition) and they will hope to transfer that form just to keep the score down.
Asian Handicap is available on all games and offers slight variation on match betting, one team is usually given a lead to level the playing field and make it a more even contest and betting heat.
Most punters will probably dip into this market with the regular match odds too short for many and this is probably the biggest handicap you will see at the World Cup. The question is how many will Brazil win by? The answer should be four or five, so backing them to win -2.25 is certainly a good bet with the winning margin expected to be a fair bit higher.
A look at how many goals are likely to go in and the best bets surrounding those goals.

The most relevant stats would be Brazil's biggest wins in qualifying as that shows how many goals they are capable of getting in one match against weak opposition. Brazil won one game 5-0 and two games 4-0 so it might be best to go with the latter, either way you would expect over 3.5 goals in the match.
North Korea had a low scoring qualification, they conceded just one goal in their final five matches, but that was against much weaker opposition and the sooner they concede, the more trouble they will be in.
A look at all the best bets that involve the players from Brazil and North Korea, the most popular of which are the goalscorer odds.
Despite an easy test for Brazil they are unlikely to rest any players and the likes of Luis Fabiano and Kaka should all be involved.
Pretty safe to assume we only need to consider Brazil players. Anytime goalscorers look a better bet as there will only be one first goalscorer but there should be four or five anytime goalscorers making it an outstanding bet. Both Luis Fabiano and Nilmar are outstanding bets in the anytime goalscorer market, it would be a surprise if either failed to score. On top of that a bet on Luis Fabiano to score a hat trick will be a nice price and has a great chance of coming in as he is often on the end of most of Brazil's chances.
The half time betting markets allow you to bet on what the result will be at half time, either on its own or together with the full time result. This can help to maximise profit from a game when you have studied the form carefully.
Brazil are very unlikely to have to wait until the second half of the game to open the scoring, they simply have too much attacking class for that, so you would expect Brazil to have a comfortable lead by half time and of course hold on to that lead or extend it in the second half.
Luis Fabiano should grab at least two goals in this match on the back of his nine goals in qualifying, maybe even a hat trick, so unless he gets injured in the first five minutes it is difficult to see the top scorer from the Confederations Cup a year ago in South Africa not scoring once against North Korea, so he should be backed confidently to score at any time.
