Australia now have many players plying their trade in Europe's top leagues and they should not be underestimated despite their big World Cup odds.
Australia are still some way off being good enough to win the World Cup as their World Cup odds would suggest but they are capable of causing a few upsets and a very decent side.

With just two losses Australia had a very good qualifying campaign for the World Cup and they are a very solid side. With ten clean sheets they are going to be very hard to break down meaning teams with shorter World Cup odds should still struggle against Australia.
Australia have shown plenty of improvement over the past few years and their performance in the 2006 World Cup was no fluke. They are in perhaps the toughest group to call, where any side is capable of winning the group or finishing bottom. Australia may be one of the two unlucky teams who misses out on the Second Round.
Back Australia's stage of elimination to be the Group Stage
Australia had a good qualifying campaign and if they are close to how strong they were four years ago then their fans will be very happy. They are unlikely to win the World Cup but they are still probably overpriced in the World Cup Odds.
Back Australia to win the World Cup and either lay off when the price halves, or when they reach the second phase, whichever happens soonest. They may well go out at the Group Stage but they do have a chance of qualifying and that could yield a good profit.
Recommended Bet: Back Australia to win the World Cup and lay when price halves if they reach the second round.
Sell Australia in the goals conceded index, their qualifying campaign has shown how hard they are to break down.
